Atlanta is hilarious. It rarely snows much here in Dixie, but I got 4 inches at my place a couple of nights ago and I have been house-bound for 2 days. We all missed work...nobody has been there to answer the phones. I'm sure when we get back in the ofc tomorrow, we're going to have a lot of pissed off clients. No...we don't have call forwarding.
Atlanta simply is not equipped with enough salt trucks and snow plows to keep all of "metro" cleared. I think they're doing all they can just to keep the expressways cleared. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm ready to go back to work. Crazy, I know...but I've had enough home time for now. Someone asked in a comment in my last post how the smoking was going. What smoking? Dwayne and I are officially non-smokers now. 11 days and counting. :)
I haven't had any calls yet for my new business...but I've got a couple of friends that say they're going to hire me soon. I'm anxious to get things up and running. I think word of mouth is going to be my best form of advertisement. It better be....since I can't afford to pay for any other kind, lol. Time for a cup of coffee...'nite friends. :)

We have also been closed the last 2 days and school is closed again tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI am off Friday and Monday too and hope we don't have a hard time flying out Friday with all the catch up the airlines are going to have to do.
Hope you get to work tomorrow - Aubrey tried to go this afternoon but spun out and came home.
I'm hoping for a snow day here, but it will take a lot more than 4 inches! It would probably take 40 inches and ice!
ReplyDeleteGood work on quitting the cancer sticks. You're brave.
You rock. Quitting is so. hard. But so totally worth it. :D
ReplyDeleteYahoo, team Dwayne & Tammy!!! Well done.
ReplyDeleteCould you put the ad for your biz on Craigslist? [I know weirdness goes on there, but you need to be careful for weirdos in your biz regardless of where they find your info, kwim.]
Speaking of weirdness, has your mentor/friend who is also in this biz advised you on some safety tips? I think you are a pretty savvy/careful woman.
Enjoy your snow.
Chrissy
Oh my goodness! I love your website! Wishing you lots of success!
ReplyDeleteMan, I've been watching some of the news out of Atlanta for the past couple days, and I cringe every time they show another big SUV spinning out of control!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping for a day off today from that same storm, but it's not going to amount to much where I live. North of me they're calling it a "weather bomb"! Drat! Hope you get out today...cabin fever is no fun.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the smoking. Major accomplishment.
We got about 6inches of snow here west of ATL and yep...its crazy. Im glad I went with my instinct and bought some food before the storm came. We have been stuck at home (with two very excited & hungry kids :s ) for the past three days now and im going NUTS! School won't probably start until Friday...good grief!
ReplyDeleteYour AWESOME girl, 11 days, what a fantastic accomplishment! HIGH FIVES to YOU and your hubby!
I'm proud of you. The quitting smoking. The new business. Doing great, you are!
ReplyDeleteNot liking this cold weather one little bit.
Congrats on the non smoking!!!! You rock!!!! Were still iced in here in Lawrenceville. But hubby wants to venture out today!! Yippee!!! This is so funny being from Canada this is nothing, but here in Ga its crazy... Keep warm.. :)
ReplyDeletewe got more snow than usual too!
ReplyDeletei'm new too your blog, but hope to be supportive on your journey : )
Pretty soon you'll have dreams of smoking. People who dream about smoking have a high success rate of staying non-smokers. Remember, can't smoke 'em if you don't have/buy 'em.
ReplyDeleteOne of our manufacturers is in Atl and they are closed down too. I hope you all still get paid.
That's incredible, Tammy! Quitting smoking has got to be one of the greatest health gifts you can give yourself!
ReplyDeleteSoon as I have my schedule and figure out what needs to be done, I'll be giving you a call! :-)
Are you freaking kidding me? Lol. Four inches of snow is NOTHING! You don't even need plows for that... The cars'll do a good enough job of plowing it down.
