I Got The Job!!!

I interviewed for 2 hours today and it turned out really well.  The boss was impressed with my resume, told me I was way over-qualified for a receptionist position, but also saw the benefit in me being able to cross-train for other positions in the office for people who are out on their vacations, etc.  He told me they intend on seeing a lot of growth within the company, and there would definitely be opporunity in the future for me to expand my horizons past the job of a receptionist.  He said that he realizes some people JUST want to answer the phone, but he had a feeling I wanted way more than that....so he offered me the position with the prospect of future growth.  :)

I start on Monday, it's 8a-5p M-F, and the dress is casual....we're talking jeans, capris and flip-flops!  Can you believe it??  I've never worked in a casual office environment before so this will be interesting.  There's only about 10 people working in the branch (they're an insurance adjuster company), and Billie says they're just like family.  It certainly had a cozy feel to it.  So I'm blessed and appreciative and thank you all for lifting me up in prayer.  God answers in His time, not ours, so I'm thinking I'm going to be right where I'm supposed to be in this new position.  :)

  1. The hits just keep coming sometimes. I'm really gladfor you getting the job, Tammy, and it possible try to stay focused on getting geared up for starting Monday.

It really makes me sick that someone who has been in a job like Dwyne has can be sacrificed in order to bring in someone new. Just stinks. I hope that doesn't happen, but as you say, it doesn't sound good.

Hugs and prayers are with you -

  13. Hey Tammy, I'm so happy that you got the job. I'm sure you'll have a bit of an adjustment period getting used to going to work every day, but I bet you'll be just fine. Lucky you to get to be really casual. Have fun and keep us posted on how it goes.

  16. It sounds wonderful - the part about advancement/future growth, and even the casual, bc we can't have our Tammy stressing over having to get a whole new wardrobe right away.

So happy for you, rejoicing with you, and thank you God. :)

Is that a pretty far drive for you? Chrissy

  25. I am so happy for you Tammy! It's so great that there is opportunity to advance within the company and I know that you will prove yourself there. It's going to be quite a change...making those healthy lunches for work. I'm not letting you eat out very often. Dangerous and too expensive. xxx

  33. Tammy, I have finally figured out how to comment on here. I am so excited for you! Congrats on the job!! I also wanted to tell you that I loved the vacation photographs and I think you had a well deserved time. I have not been doing so hot on a week to week basis, but wanted you to know that my total loss in the last 8 months has been 29 pounds.. slowly but surely it is coming off, I still have a ways to go, but I am not rushing it- less stress this way. Please keep blogging, I know it will be hard with a new job and all, but you are such a inspiration to me, and to many others that follow you. Have a great weekend, and Good Luck on Monday!
