I went to the annual Claims Convention last night. I started with this company 9 months ago, so this was my first one. I've been told a lot of crazy stories about that convention....some I better not repeat. Let's just say that I now have faith that every one of those stories were true. :) That is one crazy bunch of people. We were at the convention for 4 hours....that whole open bar thing. And then we left and went to the tavern down the street for another 4 hours...and Scott was buying. Yeah. Needless to say I had the mother of all hangovers this morning but I'm starting to feel human now at almost 4pm in the afternoon. There's a reason I very rarely drink, much less drink heavily. I was reminded of that this morning when we left the bar at 2am, and Billie called me at 6am to get ready for work.
Headed back to the convention center tonight for a much more subdued banquet dinner thingie, awards, etc. Dwayne is going to meet me there. I have to work a full day tomorrow so the overtime continues. And I got word that the storm that spawned tornadoes and killed some people in Oklahoma is headed our way and should arrive tonight or tomorrow. I must say I had no idea what I was getting myself into in the way of workload when I entered the insurance claims industry. I thank God for the work.

OH My Word....another storm means more CLAIMS.
ReplyDeleteI'd have never made it into work the day after.
Would have spent that day praying to God to die.
Again I screwed up. Never remember the word thingie and POOF.
ReplyDeleteOh well, better you than me with that hangover.
I'd still be praying to God to die.
Never was good at drinking, but was the Queen of efffin hangovers if the pain level was any indication. ;0)
