I just updated my stats on my sidebar with last week's weigh-in. I also updated my goal weight. I changed it from 170 lbs. to 199 lbs. Why? Because I was sick of staring at 170 and it feeling so far away...and, just because I can. :)
Wow, smart move! Esp. with the holidays and all. As we approach the goal number, we can always re-evaluate and change it up. Because, as you so wisely noted, we can!
Think we have to constantly readjust...and this is just one more adjustment for you! You will be there before you know it! Keep up the great work!!! :)
For me, I find it best to set mini goals like 5 pounds. Then I'm happy when I reach goal and can set a new 5 pound goal. Makes the weight loss monster seem more bite sized.
Doesn't matter what the goal is. Stop eating what you shouldn't and eat what you should. Plain and simple. Plan everything. Plan everyday and don't stray. You so won't be sorry!
I just came across your health and fitness blog. Your article about your new weight goal was especially interesting. I especially liked your comments about choosing a goal that was more in reach and will motivate you even more to push past it once you've reached it. I am adding you to my favorites. I'm a 36 year old, 272 lb. food addict on the road to recovery. I do not believe in diets. I believe permanent changes in my eating habits will get me to a healthy weight. The road from fat to fabulous is a slow, winding and sometimes bumpy one...but I'm finally moving in the right direction. Come travel with me on the road to good health.
