This Is Getting Ridiculous

My great aunt Voncille died a month ago.  My aunt Terri died last weekend.  While she was being buried, her father, who lay in the hospital with cancer, also died the same day.  My best friend Shane, who I was roommates with for 5 years before he married, is at the hospital now with his dad who is dying.  His dad has been in the hospital for 2 weeks now and is steadily getting worse by the day.  One of my girlfriends, who is like me and has no human children...only doggie children, told me today that one of her babies is dying of a cancerous tumor.

I have never experienced so much death and dying during a holiday season before.  This is too much.  Too many of my loved ones are sad and suffering... and I'm sad.  We all need some peace and prayers.

  6. Hugs to you. There is so much sadness and suffering going on I'm with Kelly - it serves to remind us to cherish each moment. Truly we don't know where we'll be tomorrow. My friend with lung cancer is waiting to hear (today) if her cancer has spread more - we're on pins and needles.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  7. Sincerest sympathies, Tammy. It is hard, when death comes in a pre-holiday wave like this.

  9. You are exactly right, Tammy, there is too much sickness and death this year around me, too, for some reason. And some just plain old tragic sadness for one reason or another. I guess we all need to pray for and send hugs to each other. I'm sorry for all your sadness.

  12. So sorry!! Sending prayers. This year the holiday season has been strange for us too. My hubby's uncle died (very unexpectedly), then my grandmother died (cancer) and just a few days ago my hubby's "second dad" passed away (also unexpected). What is going on?

  17. Thanks Tammy, thanks for the warm welcome back and for the encouragement! And I didn't feel at all like you were making light of my gaining some back. As you said, shit does happen, and when it odes, we lose our focus on things sometimes. Important thing is to be able to re-focus. Merry Christmas to you, however you end up spending the day.
