Dwayne and I had a fabulous time this weekend! We got to Cherokee early afternoon on Saturday and spent the day relaxing and went to the casino that night. We had dinner at the buffet inside the casino and I was quite proud of myself for passing up the prime rib, bbq pork ribs, pork chops, fried chicken, etc and opting for a slice of roasted turkey breast and a piece of grilled chicken. I had 2 veggies with that, along with a beautiful salad. I did my best to eat in moderation, so I'm hoping the gain I have is due to sodium from eating out all weekend.
We went to the Biltmore Estate on Sunday morning. Oh my goodness. I was absolutely overwhelmed when I saw it. It is breathtaking...just amazing. We spent about 4 hours on the grounds, walking around the gardens, and touring the inside of the house. We did a TON of walking, which made me feel good. I usually don't get much exercise on vacations, so I was happy. :)
We took a bunch of pics on our trip, including some illegal ones that Dwayne took inside the house. However, I didn't have time to download them before I came to work this morning, so I'll have to post them tomorrow. I hope everyone else had a fabulous weekend as well! :)

ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds like fun! I hope you didn't win all the money though. Did you leave any for the rest of us to win? haha I'm so glad you enjoyed Biltmore. I love seeing people's first reactions to the place. Did you just walk the gardens, or did you get out on any of the estate trails too?
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it Biltmore. It's gorgeous isn't it :)

Hey I just ran across your blog and was looking for some advice. I am a new blogger and actually am starting to blog about my weight loss journey – I loved your blog. I will follow you and would love it if you can do the same and maybe send me some advice weather it be on blogging or weight loss (what a damn struggle).....Thanks so much.

So glad you had a wonderful time. Good job on the buffet - they are the bane of my existence. I hope you also got plenty of rest and relaxation to arm you for returning to work!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky Dwayne would spend all that time at the Biltmore Estate. My husband would not be into that at all! I've never been there but have always wanted to go. Here's to a good week!
There is an award for you on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little dog! I saw your comment on Kenz's post and I just had to see your dog. I'm a huge dog lover and I felt the same about someone keeping one of my dogs. They're like kids to me.
