Lightening Up

I can't post my weigh-in pic!!!  I tried and tried on my home computer this morning but it just wouldn't work.  Normally when I click on the picture icon, "My Pictures" comes up and I just scroll down until I see it.  Well this morning, it looked totally different.  "My Pictures" wasn't even an option.  It would only allow me to upload from a URL or upload from Picasa Web Album....WTF?????  I couldn't find the picture anywhere so eff it.

I weighed in at 245.8 lbs. this morning!  I was 249.6 last Friday, so that's a loss of 3.8 lbs. for this week...AND...get this....a loss of exactly 10 lbs. in the last 2 weeks!!!  Here's the bummer though.  I still feel fat and miserable in my clothes.  Those 10 lbs. hasn't seemed to make any difference which is disappointing.  Everything I wear is still binding and irritating and hard to breathe in.  Maybe in another 10 lbs. things will fit better.....because I REALLY don't want to break down and go out and buy BIGGER sizes.  As soon as I shrunk, I gave away all of my bigger sizes, because...you know...going back up the scale just wasn't an option....PFFFT!!

I've already got Friday and Saturday's dinners with Dwayne planned, just like last weekend.  Tonight we're having grilled pizzas again, except we're doing them on the Naan bread tonight instead of the pita bread we used last Friday....so it will be like a thin crust pizza and save me some calories.  Dwayne was over last night and I talked him into letting me buy him some turkey pepperoni, instead of the real deal.  He begrudgingly agreed.  I told him it will taste just as good but I don't think he believes me, lol.  I also have some more of that ground italian chicken sausage like I used last week.  I'll be buying 2% mozzarella this time though instead of the full-fat (delicious!) mozzarella we used last weekend. 

Saturday night we're grilling some steaks he bought on sale a couple of weeks ago and threw in the freezer...either the NY strips or the sirloins...haven't decided yet.  I'll meausre a 6 oz. portion on my food scale.  We're splitting one baked potato between the 2 of us, and I'll have sauteed mushrooms and onions w/ mine.  I'm also buying one of those Lite Caesar Salad kits so I can at least get some romaine lettuce down his gullet.  Sheesh.

I have to say that my 10 lb. loss over the last 2 weeks is due mostly to planning ahead.  I do so much better and it's not near as hard to stay on track when I have plenty of healthy options on hand.  That's not to say I don't still have thoughts about food that are over my calorie limit.  I do...almost daily still.  But I'm still only focusing on one day at a time.  There's always some sort of dialogue going on with my brain..

Fat Tammy:  "I want a Philly cheesesteak sub today."

Skinny Tammy:  "Yeah?  Well that DOES sound good.  But let me ask you something first.  At what point do you want to strap on a pair of pants to go to work in the morning and not feel like the non-elastic waistband is damaging internal organs?"

Fat Tammy:  "Hmm.  Well...you have a point.  I guess I can wait until tomorrow."

Skinny Tammy:  "Good girl.  Yes, we'll talk about it again tomorrow." 

lol...and we do...day in and day out.  But as long as Skinny Tammy keeps winning out then I'm happy.

Hope everyone has a great weekend planned.  Dwayne and I are going to visit my sister on Saturday and on Sunday I'm meeting up with Kim to have lunch and then we're going to the Dekalb Farmer's Market.  This will be her first time there...I think she's going to love it!  :)

  1. woo-hoo! Congrats on the great loss! Once you are able to work out better that tight feeling will go away...I know you know this, so I'll let you go ahead and bellyache just this once ; )

  2. I had the same issue with the pictures! They changed something last night because I was trying to load some pictures last night and it was retarded and the whole screen ended up freezing. I would imagin they are getting tons of emails and are "on" the problem.

    Just make sure you can always hear Skinny Tammy's voice! Skinny Debbi's voice sometimes gets drowned out by the crunching of chips!

  3. AWESOME !!!! Photos add 10 pounds. I have like 20 cameras in the house, so pix from me are awful... Keep up the great work... Naan bread is a butter catastrophe !!!

  4. AWESOME!!! Your body really responds to sane eating, girl. So happy for you, and the fact that you are REALLY changing things up with the planning and assertion with Dwayne - all of it sounds great. You are on your way. I'm going to try those pizzas this weekend. Hubby gets home from being gone a week late tonight, and he's getting pita pizzas and salad tomorrow night!

  5. Wow, congratulations on a great week's result!! Your hard work is paying off. A general rule of thumb is we go down (or up) one clothing size for every 20 lbs. (Of course, we can wear clothes beyond the ideal - thus baggy or tight.) It won't be long before those clothes start to feel comfortable, Tammy! Keep up the good work!

    Oh... and I had that same blankety blank problem with pictures as of last night too.
    Thought it was something I had done.
    Relieved to know it wasn't my doing, but am very ticked that I spent so much time trying to correct that problem.

  7. YAY! Congrats on your big loss. Don't even think of buying bigger clothes because another few pounds off and you'll be feeling comfortable again, I'm sure of it.

    Glad you have your weekend planned and Dwayne is helping out by making the switch to turkey pepperoni. I wonder if he would have even noticed it was turkey if you didn't tell him. Bill always says he hates garlic but if I don't tell him it's in there he raves about how good the food tastes. Men are funny ;)

  10. I had the same screen come up on my blog this morning. I thought I had hit the wrong icon, so I exited and hit the photo icon for sure, and same screen.

    I didn't know what to choose there on the left, but I looked over at the rest of the blank and it said somehing about uploading pictures. So I clicked on it to see what would happen, and my pictures came up. :D

    It may not work again, but it did this morning.

  11. Ik.. I checked to see what I did re: photos.

    The left side--with the list of options--starts with UPLOAD. Just leave it there. do not pick an option.

    On the right side where the picutures will comeup--has the word CHOOSE on it. (I forget if it says choose pictures or photos or files)

    Click on CHOOSE.

    My file of "my pictures" came up.

  15. You are doing great !!!! I tried not to tempt you with lunch this week, lol. But then again I was really trying not to tempt myself. I really wish I could plan my meals better, like you do. That's my problem the planning, I think I'm a good planner, I hate not to have a plan, but for some reason food is just different. When I do plan something with the menu, it always gets changed because somebody wants something different, and I am just to tired to argue about it. I am using you as my inspiration and motivation this week. I need to start some serious weight loss.
