Treadmill Thwarted

Grrrrrrrr....I have been so upset this afternoon/evening/night. I have got serious knee issues and I don't know why. I guess it's possible that I twisted or strained something yesterday while moving stuff to the new house...but I didn't notice it at the time. I noticed it today when getting ready to go to the treadmill. Figures. The right side of my right knee is throbbing...like the tendon on the side that runs just above the knee cap to just below it. It's very weak, and there's a sickening feeling when I walk like the knee is going to blow out to the right or something. It feels gross and it hurts like hell. I went to bed at 11pm tonight without posting because it was hurting so bad. I got back up at 1:15am, unable to sleep, because it's throbbing beyond belief. I'm fixing to go take some Advil and see if it's an inflammation problem. Everyone knows that I've been trying to get off a sodium gain from this past birthday weekend, and now I can't exercise until this clears up. I am more than just a little miffed to say the least. I'm also really disappointed that if it doesn't get better soon, I won't be able to go hiking with Dwayne this weekend. Crap, crap, crap. Goodnight.

  1. If it's inflamed you should also try icing it. That will draw blood from the area. I hope it gets better soon so you can enjoy a hike this weekend. But do make sure to rest it if needed so nothing bad happens.

  2. I sincere;y hope you're able to get to a doctor and really get that checked out. Hopefully it's just a strain, something temporary. May be... Stay positivem but please have it checked out!

    My best always

  3. Maybe you ought to try finding a pool and doing laps. It's awesome exercise and much easier on bad knees. It's kind of embarrassing because I still have to wear arm bands, but still...great exercise!

  4. Nuts!

Well my answer isn't going to be as straight-forward as you'd like as my walnut pack is broken pieces. I weight out 10g which is about 70 calories, I think you could be right, if you put them together, they may make 3 pieces, lol. I have pecans at the moment and 10g is a very small handful. I find it satisfies me when I have a nibbly urge and by pre-packing them, I am not tempted to eat more than I should. I think I need therapy or something.

    Hope your injury gets better!

  5. Be gentle with yourself, you are not in a race. Look after your knee, maybe take some anti-inflammatories.

    Take your time Tammy.

    Best wishes

  7. Tammy -
I just went through a weird thing with my foot, alot like you are going through with your knee. You don't want it to throw you off course when you are doing so good. Maybe your over doing it and this is the only way for your body to tell you. I don't know if you've already heard of this, but there is a way that atheletes tape their knees, around just above and just below the knee cap, to strengthen that tendon your talking about. It may help the pain to stabilize it a little. Thank you for all your encouraging words. You are inspirational.
